Giving Heart Matching Grant
Was 2017 a tough year for you? It was for Cherokee County seniors. The VAC provided services and assistance to over 130 seniors in our community last year not counting Meals on Wheels support. As some of you may have seen in the Cherokee Ledger & Tribune our organization incurred a major donation shortfall in 2017. However all is not lost.
We have received an opportunity to make up for this shortfall and I am challenging each of you to help us. The VAC is having a Matching $ to $ campaign with the slogan “Giving Heart”. We selected this name for the campaign as we are starting Feb 1 and February is known as American Heart Month. With that thought in mind, Please have a Heart! Donate using our “Giving Heart Matching Grant” challenge. Checks should have Heart in the memo. To donate online, please click the button below:
As always, let us of any low income senior and elderly veteran in need. They deserve our help!

Attendees can network and see improvements in our seniors’ lives at these facilities with senior’s opportunity to interact with others and having professionals nearby to oversee their needs. “To go orders” can be provided for all monthly events.

Annual Events and Donate for the Holidays
Every year, the holidays bring many opportunities to help our seniors through the “Adopt a Senior” program and extra help as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels volunteers. If you have special organizational skills and like to help our seniors or for more information, contact Marcine Johnson, Chair at 678-269-6677.
